Hello,

New the forum and looking for some help! I live in Massachusetts and just purchased a Pacific Energy Alderlea T5. I am installing it against the back for a brick chimney (Other side is regular fireplace.) How far does the back of the stove need to be from the brick wall? Manual is clear on combustible walls but not on non-combustible walls.

Thanks!

Is the brick wall a veneer on a stud wall or a full brick structure that is multiple courses thick?

Clearance listings are to the nearest combustible. If the former, the clearance is to the studs behind the brick. If the latter, then clearance requirements don't apply. However, I strongly recommend allowing some room in the back for better convection. Also, allow room for the blower if this is a possible addition.

Thanks for the response. Its a full brick structure with multiple courses. I don't have a blower but its a good idea for down the road. What distance would you keep it off the bricks? Thanks again.

The blower on our Alderlea T6 is 3" deep, so maybe allow 4".
