I have a Superior direct vent fite place. Can I vent vertical and then outside top of the roof use a 90 degree elbow for a lateral termination box?

Nope. You need to use a horizontal cap. It has features that separate the intake from the exhaust. A 90 degree elbow won’t do that.

The elbow is have does.

Can I use the elbow to run it Horizontal if it has features that separate the intake from the exhaust like in this picture?

They are not separated. They are adjacent to each other. All direct venting systems can only use approved DV Caps. A horizontal DV Cap will exhaust the oxygen depleted air near the upper side & the intake for fresh combustion air will be on the lower side. The hot air will RISE away from the intake area, & unless you an experience an extreme wind blowing directly at that wall of your home, they will never combine. Using an elbow will allow the intake to draw depleted air in, resulting in poor combustion. Don’t do it. It will not work well and it is NOT APPROVED.
