Removed and cleaned both of the fans in the pellet stove that is.
Dirty job but someone's gotta do it. The room air fan
I took out to the shop and blew it out with compressed air.
The combustion fan I scraped with a flat screwdriver in
the hard to reach spots, and used a toothbrush in the easy
to reach areas. Used a putty knife to clean out the recessed
area in the stove where the combustion fan sits. Used the
drywall vac to clean it all up.
She's all back together clean as a whistle and running ace!
(Sorry no pics. Didn't want to touch my camera with filthy hands)
Moral of my story is, if you do your own maintenance, have run
a few tons or more through your stove, and haven't done so yet,
pull those fans and clean them out. The cleaner you keep em
the longer they will last - I've been told anyway.
