i just recived some chimney parts and the outer casing of one of the pieces is a bit dented. i was wondering if u poped out the dent would it still be good to use. i have some suction cups at work that could handle it. im not sure if it is just fluffy isulation inside or if the insulation would be damaged from the dent. the inner flue is fine.

So it is solidpack insulated chimney? If so, I would return the dented section and get a good replacement piece.

I believe dents in solidpack could lead to overheating near combustibles--that is not act like it meets the 2" setback standard from combustibles. Unless of course the dented section goes outside above the roof nowhere near combustibles.
