Good morning,
We are planning to purchase a new wood stove in the very near future. (specific details omitted for brevity)

From what I have gathered reading others posts, it seems that having a good and reliable dealer is at least as important as the reputation of the manufacturer... First question: Is that a reasonable conclusion?

Second question: Can anyone recommend a good dealer in the Greater Cincinnati area (NKY, SE-IN)? We had been intending to buy a Hearthstone but were also considering Jotul and PE based largely on reviews on this website. So dealers which carry those brands would be of most interest.

(I've recently also read about Woodstock but haven't looked into that very deeply yet, I believe they do not use a dealer network? )

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks.

Can’t help you with a dealer in your area but I’ve dealt with Woodstock in the past and they were always very helpful and make a great product. I would choose their soapstone stoves over Hearthstone’s. Since Woodstock sell directly from their factory you need to either install yourself or find a local chimney sweep to help. I doubt a local dealer would help you install.
