Noticed tonight that my Pacific Energy stove that's 4 years old was giving off a curing smell (like a hair dryer overheating) I'm not sure what to make of it.

Maybe something got spilled on it or was inadvertently place on the hot stove?

If the stove gets to a higher temp than it has ever been before you will get the curing smell. I also get it briefly when firing up the stove if it hasn't been fired up in a while.

Ok so no big deal? Or is there something I should do to keep it from happening again.
Occasional forays into high temps will further bake in the paint on the stove and flue. It will also burn up accumulated dust. Keep the stove top and internal flue temp under 700º to minimize this.
