The Cubex I got this year is a little different in colour (darker brown)
The heat is as good as years before (only pellet I have used in the last 17 years)
It seems to have more ash but other than that performance is as good as in past years

We have Hartman P68 and we are getting an oval shaped cup of crust with burning pellets in the center of the cup. We are not getting the fine ash bed common to Harlan’s. I brought home some Tractor Supply pellets and they gave me the normal Hartman ash bed just like last years Cubex. It is only this years Cubex causing the problem.

This years batch of Cubex is not burning well. Is anybody else finding a crust in their Hartman fire box?
Yes, cubex this season(2024-2025) has been burning terrible. I thought it was my stove, so I had it professionally cleaned. It wasn't the stove. Cubex pellets are smaller this year and the tech said because they're smaller, they clump and don't leave as much air space between the pellets and don't burn efficiently. The pellets are clogging the bottom of the burn pot, leaving chunky bits I call blueberries and it makes the flame high and a lazy flame because it clogs.
We've been using cubex for 5+ years and never had this issue before.

Today I cleaned the stove and I found clumps in the burn pot but this time there was a blue hue to the clumps!! I took pictures, i wish i could upload them here! WTH is that about!?!?
We got 1 ton of cubex and 1 ton of Northern warmth pellets, we've tried northern warmth last year, they were much better than cubex, we'll be sticking with the northern warmth from now on. They were a little more expensive but the out perform cubex by a lot.
This will be the last year we buy cybex.

I use Cubex but for the first part of the year I used a new-to-me pellet fission blend
Not really happy with them, poor heat clumping ash in the burn pot. Back to Cubex
now used 5 bags and they are as good as always. The burn pot is clean and clear of ash
Then again an Enviro stove blows combustion air through it clearing the ash. More heat
burns longer using fewer pellets. They are still my go-to pellet
