I have both an Esse Ironheart and an Esse Bakeheart. I am considering using a creosote sweeping log. Does anyone know if it is okay to use one of these logs in an Esse? I have searched this forum and other sources online and can't find an answer.

I appreciate the help.

^^That.
If there is no catalytic combustor, one can use these logs. (they damage catalysts)

However, this is not a replacement for sweeping; what it does is make the creosote in the system more brittle allowing for easier sweeping. But the sweeping is still needed to get stuff out.

Dry wood, and not choking the fire down too much avoid most of any build up in a flue. In the end that is a safety issue as chimney fires are because of creosote in the flue. So don't treat symptons with a creosote log, but improve the basics to avoid the symptoms...
