I have a century 2900 with the vortex SS flex liner.

I pulled the surround just to see if anythings happening back there, where the liner connects to the insert has pulled up some (about an inch) i can tell because the front screw is out and the furnace cement has been pulled away. Also the liner near the insert is a bit discolored, slightly goldish. Is all this normal ? should i be concerned or look for anything specific ?

Some discoloration is perfectly normal. How is the liner attached to the insert? Is there an appliance adapter? Is it straight or an elbow?

connected with the adapter that came with the liner kit, no offsets or elbows. 3 screws holding it in. An inch may be a bit much, but 1/2-3/4 inch movement mainly in the front.

You probably need to change the straight adapter out for a 15 or 30 degree elbow

Is The adaptor attached to the liner with 3 screws or is the adaptor attached to the stovetop with 3 screws?

Can you get a pic?
