I recently moved into a 1800 built home with one of these 1890s Wood stoves attached to it. It’s been a couple months now and we have yet to discover how to open this damn thing. We have lifted the arm as normal, Tried to wedge it open with a hammer and a flat head, Even thought about breaking the glass! If anyone could give us some grand advice, I would greatly appreciate it. It’s currently freezing in my house and I would like some heat with snow outside.
