I am buying a woodstock fireview soapstone stove. The stove will sit on the hearth in front of the fireplace (well mostly in front, all except about 4 inches). I live in a colonial. The existing fireplace is on an outside wall. I just received a quote for installation of the stove and a full flexible insulated liner of 2500.00! This seems completely out of hand, in fact it is more than the stove. When I went stove shopping initially for a hearthstone, I was generally quoted around 1000.00 which included the cost of the liner, delivery and full installation. It seemed expensive, but reasonable. My question is: what can I reasonably expect to pay for installation, including the cost of the liner? I am in CT. I realize every situation is different but I am hoping for some ballpark figures.
