Well I just picked up and tried 3 bags of the new Corinth pellets (in the blue bag with the PFI certification).(hardwood)
The pellet size was very good,(most pellets were 1/2 inch or less)
average amount of ash.
slightly less soot on the glass(than penningtons)
little to no fines in the bags
deffinitly burn hotter than the penningtons I have been using.
Price at Paris farmers union in Auburn Maine is $289.00 ton.

hope this helps someone out.

Merry Xmas

thanks for the review, prices are coming down as well. last time i checked with them they were 310

got 3 bags of these, they look great and burn nice, same amount of ash from the green teams, same heat as well. tell you what those bags must have cost a little bit for everything they have printed on them...

J00fek,

Where did you purchase your three bags of the new Corinth pellets?

Cost per bag??

Thanks.

Did you find any pieces of corn or pellets with corn in them?

I have seen what appear to be pieces of corn in my Corinth Pellets more than once.

I have not seen any corn in there, but I hav'nt really been looking that hard either. Oh well they burn nice and hot and I am in need of at least 1 more ton.

I had a ton of the ones in the new blue bags. Emphasis on the had. Purchased at Aubuchon Hardware in Foxboro, MA. The first thing I noticed was the overpowering smell that permeated my house after I stacked them in the cellar. Than when I burned the first bag it resulted in a clinker that would FILL the burnpot and cause the pellets to spill out over the side during feed. These clinkers formed after 2 hours. Every 2 hours until the hopper was finally and mercifully empty of them. Aubuchon was very nice and took them back without a problem. We called Corinth and they seemed fairly concerned. Lessons learned: don't buy a ton w/o burning a bag first and
burn just enough at first to evaluate them.
