Hello I've got a 1990 whitfield advantage IIT pellet stove. the problem I'm having is when you turn the fan speed off the low setting the motor stalls and begins behaving erraticly . The motor is new and the old one did the same thing . Would appreciate any help.

thanks for the thread but realy no help . its probably the board , just didnt want to spend $281 if it wasn't , already bought the motor .
All right describe the problem in a bit more detail.
Is it when you turn the motor from low to high......high to low......both?
did the previous thread sound familiar at all at least up to the board replacement?
you said it was a new motor and the same problem so I would lean to the board also.

thanks again for your time , the motor will stall when turning the speed control from the low setting {motor works fine on low} to any other setting . Some time it will inrcease speed somewhat but after a few seconds it will then stall .I'm sure that it being a 1990 model of stove that it is the board , if not maybe dynamite is the answer , thanks again , happy holidays.
It is more than likely the board. Get an old extension cord and strip the wires on teh end of it. Disconnect your blower motor wires from the terminal block and hook them to your extension cord. Plug it in if it goes then that's the answer. The only other thing it could be is the board. Though that test is probably redundant since you've already installed a new blower. One word of caution I will give you is that Lennox has chosen not to support any stove 10 years old or older. So that may be your que to get into something a little newer with factory support.
