Wondering if you can change settings while the stove is in use or if you have to shut it off to change the settings. The manual is crap and I can’t seem to find the answer in it. Also about the eco modes……

I had it on eco 2 but wanted to switch it to eco 1 and the only way I could do this was to shut the stove off and change the settings and start it again…. Then once in that mode it never came back on , once it hit temperature it shut down as it was supposed to but after a good 20 /30 minutes I shut it off because it wasn’t kicking back on….it was roughly 15° when I shut it off. What do they consider to be factory set temperature for your room???

Then went to start it today and it was not lighting. Is this normal for this stove in eco 1?

I’m a complete rookie here…. The manual is not helpful to me for this….

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum
I have no idea what the preset temperatures are .
have you pulled the Temperature sensor outside the stove cabinet?
The way I read it is Eco 1 is on and off
Eco 2 max temp can be set by pressing the P button
in this setting, the stove continues to run ramping up when there is a heat call

Hi, thank you ! I meant to put Cleavland Ironworks stove….. sorry about that! The temperature wire is outside the stove cabinet. They have it zip tied so I guess I just attach it to a wall? I couldn’t find anything on this topic in the manual.
As for the preset temp settings , I think I’ve figured out eco 2. It’s eco 1 that I don’t understand fully just yet. Ideally I’d like to keep it on eco 1 but when I did that, it literally shut down and wouldn’t start again. It got a bit chilly so I assumed it would kick back on but I had to do it manually and as stated before when I tried to start it in that mode it didn’t seem to want to light. Maybe it just takes longer to light in that mode…… I work two jobs and I’m just trying to figure it out before it gets really cold and I have to leave it running.

Suppose to 2-3 degrees below what you have stove set at.

https://www.cleveland-ironworks.com/faqs
  • Unit will run until desired temperature is reached
  • Once temperature is reached, unit will go through shut down
  • Stove will relight when thermostat reads the temperature is out of range
    • 2-3 degrees away from your desired setting
  • The stove will go into stabilization and run until it reaches temperature
  • Cycle will repeat
