I'm hoping to install a cookstove in our summer kitchen for occasional use. The problem is that some previous owner in the 50's decided to take the original stone chimney off. The flue is still there and goes where I need it to go. I really can't have the chimney replaced at the moment and won't likely be able to do it for a number of years (other parts of the house that are existing need attention). Until then, I'm wondering if it's possible to use a prefab top and connect that to a liner. That wouldn't be a huge investment and the liner would be needed eventually anyway.
I'm curious if anyone has done this or knows if it can be done.
Thanks for any suggestions!
