I finally hauled my lazy butt up to the roof and swept the chimney. The nights have been getting cooler and soon I will fire up my wood stove for the heating season. Here in my part of Oregon we don't get anywhere near the cold of other parts of the country. No doubt people will think I am getting a late start on this. The wood stove is now cleaned and the first fire is built and ready to light whenever the house needs additional heat. I love those first few fires of the season, but get really tired of lighting them by the spring.

Thank to everyone here on Hearth for the great advise you have given me over the past few years.

You're fine. I expect it will be another 2 weeks before we light up.
