I believe my duravent duraplus chimney requires strapping every 4 feet and I’m wanting to swap out a 36 inch piece for a 12 inch piece which would put me just under 4 feet above the wall brace, but that measurement is not including the rain cap on top of the chimney, is that included in the measurement? I don’t think strapping to the roof is really a option, it’s coated in some weird spray on foam and I have no idea where the rafters are or how big they are in my Mobil home, I’m guessing they don’t consist of much..

Is the 10-3-2 rule being honored?

FYI - Short chimneys will have a weaker draft . 90º turns in the flue path further slow down draft. This can make a modern stove perform poorly with weak or no secondary combustion.

Yes that would be up to that rule once I get rid of my old chimney which is just a couple feet away, I’m going to cut it off and cap it. The roof doesn’t have really much pitch at all it is rounded up a few inches. I am kinda worried about how it will draft going through the wall and not up very far.. it will be about 8 feet total from stove top to the top of the chimney with a 90 and the outside T, (that’s not counting the 2 or 3 feet of horizontal pipe) I have another 36 inch piece that I planed on using instead of buying a 12 inch piece that just doesn’t seem likely due to the bracing requirements

Usually it's better to go straight up in a mobile and cheaper.
What stove is this for?
What was connected to the old chimney and what inside diameter is it?

it’s for a century fw 3500, mabey I shouldn’t have started a new thread for this I’m not entirely sure how this forum normally works so I figured a different question should be on a different thread, I have a couple others open that you have replied to. The old chimney was originally for a pre manufactured fireplace that was in the house, I don’t believe anything about it is up to code anymore and it’s a 8 inch, the stove is 6 inch

The reason I asked was to consider whether having a rear vented freestanding stove in front, running an insulated liner up the chimney was a possible. It doesn't sound like that's an option.

Moving on - The FW3500 is a very large, 3.5 cu ft stove. How many sq ft is the mobile? It will need more chimney height and should be connected with 45º stovepipe elbows inside instead of one 90º. To help draft and clearances, double-wall stove pipe should be used.

Okay, I appreciate it, how tall do you think it should be to draft good?
The minimum for SBI stoves is usually about 13' straight up.
The home is a 900 and some sq ft
That stove will keep a 2000-2500 sq ft home toasty. Is the insulation and sealing very poor in the home?

Yeah I think we went a little big on the stove, but the insulation and windows are terrible, and we are planning on either getting a newer double wide or building a shed house in the next couple years, so we bought the stove with intention of using it in the new place

Fair enough. Just run smaller loads until it gets very cold. Or get used to living in nothing but underwear. :)
