Hello friends.

I have a ceiling support box that came with my stove when I bought it used. Everything is in the kit. Previous owners had planned on installing the stove with a through the ceiling set up but never did and sold me the stove with the kit. (Pic of the support kit below ). The paper manual is useless and I cannot find anything online on where the support RING is supposed to go or where I attach the box to rafters. I’m including a sketch on where I’m “assuming” how it should be set up and need your help.

Ring question. Does the silver ring go around the bottom of the class A pipe to provide a lip for the weight of the chimney to rest on while it’s in the box? Red circle for reference.

Screw question. Do I screw through the steel box into rafters (or whatever framing I may have to do) red circle for reference.

That looks like it may be SuperVent chimney pipe cathedral ceiling support box. You have it correct. The support box is screwed to the box framing around it and yes, the clamp goes on the inside of the box. There is a stove pipe adapter to transition from the SuperVent chimney. It's part JSC6ASE for 6" pipe.

The support box can also be attached to the roof by creating a flange if that is preferred.

Awesome. Thanks for the help. I’m reading that some of the class A should extend down past the box into the room. I wonder if this is a must? I’m able to get the black single to double wall adapter lined up perfectly at the hole. I’d rather not have any silver pipe showing so that it’s all black. If it’s a must that some of the class A has to extend down perhaps I can paint it?

It usually projects down a bit into the room. How much depends on the stovepipe clearances being met. If this is not an issue then it can be close to flush as long as the clamp has full contact. The chimney pipe definitely can be painted with high-temp paint. Satin black Stove Brite paint is what I would use. Before painting, lightly scuff the surface with steel wool and then wipe down with alcohol.
