Canadian Dealers?

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I have been doing a lot of reading, and haven't seen much from anyone in my area. I have also been looking at manufacturers websites, and don't see any Canadian dealers. Does anyone have any info on who I could contact, or what dealers would be near my area? I am interested in EKO & Tarm, but haven't found any dealers here in NB. Thanks!

I know this is Eric's territory but what the heck...from one NB Mike to another, Welcome! Don't have any real positive answers to your questions other than I did find a guy who was looking into carrying TARM. He's located in Centreville. When I talked to him about it, he said he was looking to carry them because a local guy would buy one unit from him. In the end TARM sold the local guy a unit and the potential dealer decided that it would not be a match made in heaven if anyone could buy one without going through a local dealer.

Personally, I'm pretty much set on buying a Greenfire. They are located in Fort Kent, ME, so it's not a long drive for me to pick it up. I'm near Woodstock.

Thanks for the info Mike. I'm from near Fredericton, so not far from you. Is the Greenfire a gasification boiler? Right now I have a new house (only 1yr old) with and electric boiler. I am heating with radiant hot water in my slab and want to convert over to wood, keeping the electric as backup. Does anyone now how this would work, or has anyone done this?

Thanks Mike, for helping me out. I was going to give forestrymike my traditional welcome, but I had nothing to back it up with. Still don't, other than to point out that we have a member from New Brunswick, slowzuki, who might know of some dealers in the Maritimes. I don't know about getting equipment like boilers across the border, but given the exchange rate, you might be ahead to buy one in the states and haul it back home. There are a number of gasification boiler dealers in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Here is the link to Greenfire (broken link removed) Mark is very helpful if you give him a call. At least one other member here (Sparke) has one and likes it very much. As for your next question, I have a friend who has an outdoor woodboiler/electric boiler combo and my son, who is a plumber, has recently installed a solar/electric boiler system for a customer. So...yes it's possible. I'm no plumber so I'll leave it others here to give you the basics of how that would happen.

Eric...I believe bringing it across the border is just a matter of paying the taxes. I'll be checking it out for sure, but I'm pretty sure that this is all that is involved.
