Postmans Ridge Qld
I suspect I already know the answer, but can this pot belly be saved? It's been warming our railway carriage accommodation for many years but has become savagely corroded while we weren't paying attention. I gave it a 'girl' wire brushing this morning which revealed the extent of the corrosion. The body seems solid enough but the ash pan and the bit up the top are full of holes. Would I just be better off buying a new stove and not risk burning down the carriage? The doors are in good nick and are currently having a vinegar bath to try to get the parts moving, but the plate off the top is very thin, with holes. The grate that you sit the wood on is also not there. On the plus side, the lifter seems almost like new.
Thanks for any advice.

It's scrap. Even fully restored it wouldn't be worth much.
