Hi all, I have a CAB50 which is working great overall but this year I got several tons of shorter than usual pellets (Green Supreme) that I suspect have a lot of ash wood since I’m in a part of the country where they harvested a lot of it due to EAB. As a result even with my feed control down all the way it’s feeding too many pellets.
I have the newer control board that flashes 2x for the CAB50 and its original to this stove. But there is a +10% setting for dense fuel. Does this setting feed more or fewer pellets?
If it’s more I’ll live with it as it is. The stove is running fine but there are more clinkers when running on medium and I just need to clean it more often than usual. Running on high will heat me out of my house or keep turning off and on with the stat except when it gets super cold, and typically medium puts out good heat with an efficient burn. Just got worse pellets than usual this year.
I burned GS Appalachian Hardwood last year and they were OK. This year I got the new green and clear bags from the TSC early buy and it was early enough in the season that they were not out in the rain (we had a really dry summer here) and they’ve been kept in my dry shed since so there doesn’t appear to be any water damage or intrusion. Unfortunately with the new bags there is no indication any more which facility they came from.
Yes it’s kept clean. Yes I clean my vent system several times a year (after every ton at least) and just did it recently. Yes my hopper is cleaned per the manual for fines. Yes I keep the fans clean. Yes my air intake is clear/clean and open all the way and yes I have an OAK. Just want to get all that out of the way. This question is about the control board setting and whether it feeds more or fewer pellets. Thanks!
