Yeah, do that EVERYTIME you pull the burn pot out. The holes must be sealed off from each other, especially the igniter....if not it may not ignite as the hot air just escapes the hole and goes up the back of the box. Also...if you get to a stove that has the igniter glowing but very slow to start...it may need to have the compression bolts on the box tightened up or gasket changed altogether. Very common.

I once had a customer that took his whole stove apart and pressure washed it and in lieu of gaskets, he used wood filling compound instead. Needless to say it didn't work.
