I have a Buck 91 which I'm installing myself. 8" Rigid liner inside an existing masonry chimney.
I had a quick question about the primary connection to the stove itself though.
First, there doesn't seem to be a flange or coupler attached to the stove (out of the box). Based on my reading it looks to be an optional part. Buck calls it a 'CBN Connector'. Here is a thread which mentions it. However, according to the Buck Install manual, these are only to be used (and optional) during a ceiling install (as seen below).
I found the part, here but am wondering if I 'should' be using it or not. I don't mind the money, or waiting, I just want it done properly and there doesn't seem to be much detailed information on how to optimally connect the rigid liner to the stove. Is it really as simple as inserting a male/crimped end into the hole and putting some sealant on it?
FWIW, I also have one of these laying around but wasn't sure if it was compatible with rigid liner.
Looking for some guidance. thanks!
