This block off plate has been installed for 8 years, but while addressing some cleaning, I figured I could maybe seal this a bit better. Do I just shove this gap full with some insulation? Any in particular? I forget what I used 8 years ago. Thanks.

No pic?

Any insulation should be rockwool, not glass fiber (or cellulose...)

Can use silicone too for smaller gaps.

Really big gaps I would consider pop riveting to fill.

Oops. Here is the pic

They also don't seem to make small quantities. I may run over to my dealer and ask them for a remnant sheet, unless there are some other suggestions. It seems like the smallest amount I can get from Depot is about $55.

At Amazon there are ceramic insulation blankets for less..1*1 or 2*2 ft.
Make sure it's ceramic and is fire rated
