I need to make up a marking stick to use for cutting my logs, and I know what I've been cutting has been too short. What length do you guys cut your logs to? I'm feeding an older non-cat model.

Thanks!
Craig

20 inch bar so 20-21 inches and I load E/W.

18 N/S

this season 16-18 N/S Next season 16 - 18 N/S and 20-21 E/W

My stove takes 20 inch splits so I try to cut all logs at 18 inch before splitting.

Thanks. I thought the length was 18" but that was a WAG. I'll make a 54" stick with marks at 18" and 36" and be all set.

regretting cutting all my wood 18 to 20 inches not realizing i'd be getting a new stove. oh well. been cutting some pieces down with the chop saw because n/s kicks butt.

Too bad you're not closer, I have the opposite problem....
