Is the Ashford an all cast stove or cast over a steel box?

Also, why is it that BK's seem to only accept smaller splits? 18inches max on a large size stove seems off to me.

Thanks

Cast over welded steel. Much better than all cast with the inherent leaky seams.

The BKs, even the large 4.3 CF one, can be loaded front to back or side to side. The firebox depth is where these stoves get their volume. 16" long splits have been the standard for many years on most stoves so you may as well enjoy the ease of handling this shorter wood.
