This insert came with the house. They were made mostly in the 80s and barely into the 90s. Supposedly very high quality. It has a damper at the top of the box and it has two air inlets on the doors that swing on pins. It has threaded thumb screws to manually keep them open to allow more air.
I understand that the company owner died and the son changed the company to build industrial hydraulic machinery. It looks like it has a double seal without a gasket.
Does anyone have any experience with these inserts, manuals on operation, or how to get it to burn efficiently? I found an old post with a news ad advertising that the doors are air tight and automatically lets air in. I am wondering if there is supposed to be a gasket rope installed?
