Wood Duck said:The pics of Zapny's woods and his location in upstate NY (I think) make me think Red Maple is a lot more likely than Silver Maple. Silver Maple is strictly a riverside tree where I live (PA). I think it grows in a wider variety of habitats in the midwest.
