I have recently installed an older Hurricane wood stove into my basement that has a heat exchanger built in with a blower on the back. The stove is sealed up great but when the blower is kicked on, it is slightly affecting the draft and drawing out carbon monoxide through either a small gap in the door or the combustion air intake knobs on the front. My thought is to install an 4” outside air intake with a variable speed inline exhaust fan and feed it to the bottom of the stove. Any thoughts or different ideas?

has the firebox been fully inspected? CO should never get out with a convection blower running.
