I finally located a place to purchase BareFoot pellets, they are $239/ton as compared to the $219/ton for Lignetics I have been purchasing. Are the BareFoots worth the extra money?

Personally I liked both and the price your getting them makes them almost even or a pickem. Heat is very close and the barefoots nicked the lig's in the ash column.

Can you try a few bags of them before you have to buy? Otherwise get some of each. Both should do well for you.

What stove are you burning them in??

Yea, I can purchase a few bags and try them and I plan on doing so, just wanted to see what others felt about them. I am burning a Quadra Fire Mt. Vernon AE. I am actually mixing 1 part pellet to 2 parts corn, this is giving me great heat with the Ligs, but I had heard the BareFoots burn hotter and less ash.

I personally think the Barefoots are worth the extra money. They have less ash and smell like fresh wood flooring. Definately would try a couple of both first though.

barefoots i think are better

Where are you getting these? I paid $239 for Energex at Weavers in Fleetwood. They also had Lignetics for the same price.

Our local dealer sells Barefoot. The early buy price was $300 and he has not moved off of that price all winter, even when the big boxes were down to under $225 (quanity discount). Although he's got several ton's sitting in the parking lot, I do see idiots driving off with a ton in truck every so often. Maybe this spring he'll jack the price up to $400 as it appears the uninformed will buy no matter what the price.

I found them at Mountain View Supply Inc.

This is West of Hamburg, about half way between Hamburg and Shartlesville,PA.

I thought the green label Lignetics were a solid pellet - Burned two tons a couple years back. I definitely like th Barefoots better. For some reason Lignetics seem to be priced very high in my area each year - So high that I wouldn't by them over other brands.

Thanks, I am in Exeter so that isn't too much of a haul for me at all. I want to try different brands. I like the Energex that I have now, but all I have to compare them to is the Fireside Ultras and Stove Chow from HD. Again thank you man!

IMO, Barefoots are an excellent pellet.

Very clean, burn HOT, and minimum ash.

My only complaint with them is that , in my stove, I get a reddish brown build up on the glass that is quite heavy.

Do not get that with softwoods like LG Granules or Okanagans.
