New to Pellet Stove

Let me start by saying that we have tried everything we could think of, several times, several people... so someone out there in cyberspace has to be able to help us!

I bought a used PelPro WH-5483 with an Acutron II memory board; working at time of purchase. Had it installed and gave it a thorough head to toe clean. Put it back together and can only seem to get LUKE WARM heat out of the stove. It is only heating a small 16 x 16 cabin and just isn't cutting it. It was designed for a 1200 sq ft. area and the guy before me said it was always belting out the heat. SO..... what might the problem be?

Could it be the pellets... they are hardwood and not to old.

Thanks,
Rhonda

Good morning. The number you list is not a stove number,it is a certification number.Find out what your stove is.Also, would help if you posted picture of the stove, and of the install, especially the flue.It will be an older stove,I think they have been bought out since then. Also, the acutron 2 is really old,and may have not liked the move.

Thanks Bob! Here are some pics...
This is in a 16x16 log cabin (320 sq ft).

That first picture! Is the fresh air hooked to the vent pipe? How does it get outside air? That should go through the wall and draw from outside the cabin. Thats why you have no heat. No air no burn. Detatch that and leave it unhooked and run the stove. If it burns better hook up a new oak through the wall

Ok i have done some homework to educate myself. That is a Selkirk direct-vent pipe it draws its fresh air from the outer area of the vent pipe. Only thing i can ask is the top of the pipe open to get air into the outside wall of the vent?

Nice install.I see a cold cabin, with the poor door and windows, but that stove should kick out enough heat.Read the manual,go through all the settings, make sure you can make adjustments, there is also an accutron 2 test page on the net, somewhere,do not have it handy.

Show us a picture of the flame on the highest setting. Should be quite large and lively based on my Pelpro ecperience.

Try closing air dampers a bit just in case it's wide open.

Are you sure there is a difference in heat setting 1 to 5? As I recall setting on setting 1. The auger light comes on for 3 seconds, and off for approximately 10 seconds. On setting 5, auger is on for 3 seconds and off for about 5 seconds. These settings are adjustable for feed rate by turning the low or high screws on control board. Recommend reading manual to do this correctly.

How long is that run total? Might be that it is too long for the OAK to be effective. I think it is supposed to be no longer than 10, maybe 15 feet. Try disconnecting the oak at the stove and see if that helps.
