Yesterday I replaced the fire bricks in my baby bear stove. I bought 20 Fire bricks at the local Mason supply for $2.39 each, best price I could find. The old bricks were mostly cracked but they were still in there tight it was a bit of work to remove them. Overall turned out pretty good and had a fire in there last night. also a few months ago made leg extension so the stove is not so low to the ground.

What is the baffle made of? Why the grate?

Baffle is just a 3/16 or 1/4 plate I had laying around and cut to fit, definitely helps cut down smoke, grate is just to help when starting fire for sirflow
