I did not think I was going to have enough seasoned wood for this year, since we didnt start preparing for the stove soon enough. We live next to several large apple orchards, and last week I purchased a dump truck load of wood from one of them, that they had split sitting on display by their market. I can only assume it is apple wood. It smells wonderful.
My question is, is this a good wood to use for overnight burns? If I am reading the charts right, it is denser, and has more btu's than red oak.
When I was stacking it, the wood was pretty heavy, so I dont think it was all that seasoned. I am going to give it a month or so before I try it.
