Are there any heavy wall liners sold direct to consumer? I need oval so that complicates it some, one site I emailed will oval their Hybrid liner but I'd like to go with heavy if I can.

I'm 99% sure I'm going to Ditch the Duraliner Rigid I removed yesterday (and damaged some of it) when I went to replace the rusted out top section of pipe. I do not want to do another line in my life if I can help it.

I know I can get an oval hybrid .010 liner delivered but I'd really like the heavy wall ~.015 such as Homesaver offers but they do not ship direct to consumers from https://www.efireplacestore.com/. I can reach out to some sweeps/stores and see what they offer or if I could ship to one for a nominal fee. I'm thinking something like $40 would be ok literally just pick a product up from a sweep if they would let me ship it there?

This place seems like they might offer to consumers; https://lifetimechimneysupply.com/residential/heavyweight-flex-chimney-liner

Called a local sweep/installer and they will not sell over the counter only install.

$4500 for a Hybrid liner which I can order and install myself from online for about $2000.

$5000 for heavy wall Homesaver installed.

Maybe I'm out of touch but that seems excessive to drop a liner down a prepared chase.

Install is 16" straight down the masonry chase so I don't think it could get any easier.

Try this company. He drops ships from Olympia, I bought some foreverflex light ss liner for my boiler reline from them. I see on the site he sells hybrid, I don't see any heavy..BUT give them a call to be sure...... I have Olympia Armor Flex .016 installed but didn't buy it from him. I think the Armor Flex name/product is gone and the heavy flex is now branded Homesaver.

I can’t help you with your question, but can acknowledge your comment on expensive. I just installed about 15’ of double wall chimney / stove pipe for about $1k in parts… but I got quotes ranging from $3500-$4500…. I probably have 8 hrs into the install, I’d guess a competent installer could do it in half.

I’ll note that I was able to get name brand stuff online for like half of the local big box stores, so keep an eye out for online suppliers.

Thanks. I had emailed him some questions on the hybrid before deciding I really want heavy flex if possible. Waiting for a call back.

I did call a local stove dealer and they tack on $1000 on top of the online ( https://www.efireplacestore.com/cpf-22140.html )price just for the liner so $2700! After the rest of the fittings it would be well over $3000.

Check your local hardware store. They might surprise you with what they have available.

I can get heavy wall but wow, I don't want to be paying $2700 just for the liner. They only list them in 25 foot rolls too. I don't want to pay for 9 extra feet that I cannot use. Apparently that is what it costs after calling two places. Not sure why https://www.efireplacestore.com/cpf-22140.html lists it at $1700. I can understand retail mark-up but that's huge. I'm going to guess than sell almost none of these after talking to a couple different places.

Its looking more and more like a Hybrid .010 liner is in my future at less than half the cost.

Where are you in pa?

Ahhh that's to far for me

Yeah i have several times

Do the re-seller's price of the Homesaver seem high to you? $2700 for the 25' roll of 8" + whatever the tee and cap cost. One said that the distibutor (Copperfield?) won't ovalize the 8" but have the Ovalflex but it would need nearly 15" in width to fit with insulation. I'm not sure If I could make that work or not but probably could. This place which doesn't sell to consumers shows that for $2,000 https://www.efireplacestore.com/cpf-22310.html . After insulation and fittings that would be $3,000.

Hybrid with 1/2" super wrap is $1960. The chimney sweep only had a $500 difference between those two but retail its over $1000 difference.

I did see SidHarvey catalog shows its available by the foot which surely would be cheaper to get 16' custom cut than the whole extra 9' which I can't use.

If I was sitting here and hadn't spent $2000 for DuraCrap 2 years ago I'd just pay someone to install the heavy wall and be done with it.

I don't use Copperfield anymore they became to.much of a pain to deal with. I use new England chimney supply. But yes Copperfield will ovalize. Or any sweep with an ovalizer can as well

Thanks for taking the time to respond, it is appreciated.

I really wanted heavy wall but the cheapest I think I could do that on my own is about $3500 materials. That's just too much after spending over half that in 2022.

I've read a ton of your posts and you seem to say hybrid is good and might last 20-30 years with a modern stove, like my F5200. People seem to be happy with liners half as thick so I'm probably over thinking this and should get good service life out of it.

Yeah i couldn't remember what stove you had. But with the 5200 hybrid should do fine

Unfortunately the distributor for the Hybrid liner stopped ovalizing about a year ago due to problems. Rockford claims it cannot be ovaled and will come apart due to the construction so maybe there have been some problems in the field. EDIT. Distributor was looking at the wrong liner to oval.

Homesaver Ovalflex will be out $4000 with insulation. Due to needing almost 15" in width with insulation I'd have to cut some block out and trim some filler brick at the top to even make this work but is doable.

Checking on getting a rigid liner ovaled.

Really running out of options for even mid weight oval on the consumer side.

Update: Rhino Rigid is available in 6.5x9.4" oval and is 24 gauge so .0239 thick. Likely going this route as there is nothing to rust out, super thick and mirror smooth like the Duraliner. Same price as the Hybrid but nearly 2.5x as thick.

Rhino Rigid ovaled to 6.5x9.4 with super wrap ordered from www.fireplace-chimneystore.com

Worked with Scott on confirming what was needed and sizing. Seemed to actually know what he was talking about unlike some of the other popular sites. He actually contacted his supplier to answer a few questions I had.

This ends up being about $100 cheaper than a Hybrid liner with insulation from Rockford but they claim it can't be ovaled.
