I am having some remodel done and a new complete fireplace being put in. Contractor showed me a the Regency R90 and Astria Montecito Estate. The R90 seems to be a easier to work into the original vision for the space, but I like the larger firebox of the ME, and it may be more efficient. I would like some advice from you guys that obsess on this stuff and really understand it.

With the 2020 EPA update the market is changing. The Montecito is a venerable old design. There are other large firebox ZC fireplaces to look at if that is the goal. Valcourt makes a few big ones like the FP15. The FPX Elite44 is also very large and look at the Heat&Glo Northstar if you can find one.

Begreen, thanks for your advice. I will get one of the three you suggested. I have forwarded the links to the contractor to get pricing and availability. He is giving me the big items at contractor cost, so I have to let him do the next step. I was going to wait until I had it to let you know, but planning is taking longer.
