I need to add water to my Central Boiler 5036, and in the past I've climbed up on top with a 5 gallon bucket and a funnel and added through the vent (it's a pain to run a hose out there). But it's also a pain to climb up there, and I'm not getting any younger. Does anyone add water through the "normal" fill lines located near your distribution header? If so, is this the recommended method? The manual does not say (that I could find)...

Thanks.

I think many add water via a return line port in the house...connect hose, open valve(s) bam, full. Probably easier with a second person outside to watch the level...

Yeah, having someone outside is a must. I ended up climbing on top and filling through the vent. Only took about a gallon or so (had a leak at last season's end). Thanks.
