Bonjour.

Our 2010 Accentra (FS) just began to squeak, yesterday. No time to investigate, I just lent an ear a few minutes. I'm now sure that squeak came from back end of the feeder auger shaft. I had a look, it seems to be mount within bearing. I found > here < a post that mentions a "sealed auger bearing". Unfortunately, owner's book gives part number (3-50-00565) but doesn't show much details.

For me, squeaking during feeder's rotation (I recorded sound, which corresponds exactly to the rotational movement) comes from a metal to metal friction. Probably due to a slight wear play into bearing (auger rubbing into housing? ). Today, doesn't squeak nor more X(

Does anyone here have pics of the parts and assembly, please ? Or a good exploded view ?

Are there any pitfalls during disassembly?

May the auger be refurbished (new bearing)?

Thanks in advance.

Bonjour.

Shaking by hand the auger end through the burn-pot feeding hole, there's no appreciable axial play.

But there's a 1~2 mm (1/16") flapping, vertical or horizontal. Combined with combustion deposits (bistre = solid hash), it could explain a temporary rubbing.

I will remove auger and inspect (and clean!) feeder housing in a few days. I will also check the motor and mechanism shafts and probably add hi-temp moly-grease (if easily possible).

My question is still avalaible: any (known) way to change auger's bearing ?

Thanks.

Not sure if you can replace just the bearing, but I recently replaced the entire feeder weldment assembly and put in a new auger a few other things on my Accentra. The new auger with the bearing was only $50 US. It’s not OEM. Got all my parts from Pelletstoves4less and Mountainview Hearth.

There are plenty of YouTube’s on how to replace the auger.

Thanks.

I don't know if there's non-OEM dealers, here in Europe, I will check.

My pellet dealer is the french exclusive importer of Harnan stoves...

Mine is a Vermont Castings Reliance, it hasn't been made in over 30 years, but much of it is Harman, the auger is horizontal into the burn pot. Once long ago, it run out of pellets by accident (our fault) and I guess heat / fire melted seals and burnt sh got into the front most bearing and it was making a 'ell of a noise. Pulled auger out back, went to nearest W W Grainger store and bought two new bearings, they had a flange on them. I made a shield of steel exhaust pipe and a round washer to totally shield (imagine a cup with a hole in the center, of steel, covering the front bearing shaft to wall) the bearings from fire or heat, still smooth 20 -25 or so years later.

Might be worth while to take the auger with bearings to a bearing store? In looking at the pictures in the link in the linked thread, I see a snap ring holding the bearings on the auger, so they likely are easy to get off. I suspect the flange I see is a larger disc.
