Wow, this is weird.
I downloaded an "Installation & Operating" manual for the Accentra-2 (FS), a couple of weeks ago.
This copy has an "R7" listed on the cover-page. (revision 7?)
Anyway, on page 28 it shows a direct-drive auger system, (no chain drive) on the parts blowup.
That's why I've been thinking there's a newer version of the Accentra (FS) either coming soon or out already.

I just went to the Harman site and I couldn't find the same manual.
The manual there says R4, and it shows the chain-drive.
Now, I'm not sure where I got this "newest" manual.
Another thing = that R7 copy says "Harman Home Heating". and the R4 copy says "Harman Iron" at the top of the page.

I'm confused.

Does anyone have an Accentra-2 made in (late) 2008?

Something tells me they just did a sloppy job of composing their manuals. I have a Advance-2 model which has a chain dirive and my manual also shows a direct drive in the parts illistration. Since most of their feed systems are the same, I think they probably tried to save time and borrowed pages from one manual to complete another so they didn't have retype pages. I have the feeling they simply have the wrong illustration in there.

Harman Home Heating is the company's new name under their new owner (HHT)

Hey codebum,
What's the date of manufacture on your stove?

Yeah, that's the "R4" version.
You can see the R4 on the right side, near the middle of page 1 (cover page).
This has the chain-drive on page 27.

I saw a direct-drive in the "R7" manual.

I can't seem to copy & paste this pdf I have, in order to send it to the forum.

Burningman... Sorry to take so long getting back to you!

I am not sure where to get the manufacture date. My manual shows a place on the serial number label (near the bottom of the label) where the date should be, but I don't have anything like that on my lable.

Anybody, know where to look for this date?

Thanks ParrotHead,
I'm starting to think the manual I downloaded was later pulled from the website, as the newer stove might not be ready for release? (Not sure, just guessing).
I checked the date of that download (of the manual) & it's 10/22/08.
I assume I got it from the Harman site, but at that point, I was all over the internet, grabbing all kinds of info on stoves. (Maybe I got it through a dealer link, and got a copy not readily available? ...Not sure.)
I do remember asking a local dealer about this subject, and he said he'd heard something about "Harmon moving away from chain-drive to direct-drive in their newest stoves".
Does this mean "future stoves", or are they changing the design of stoves in their line now, on an on-going basis? This may be why a halt to production, while they institute the changes?

Again... Does anyone own a 2008-made stove?
And... What does the "-2" in Accentra-2 mean? Anyone know?

If I get a chance & I'm able to, I'll try to scan my copy of those pages that show the drive unit and (somehow) get them into the forum.
Any ideas on how I might do this would be great.

CodeBum... that manual looks 100% legit, even listing the part numbers on the parts page. So I don't think it's a sloppy mistake, but I understand what you were getting at.

How are all of you liking your Accentras? This unit is still at the top-of-my-list of possible choices.

And...
Thanks again for a GREAT forum!
I am spending WAY too much time here!
;^)

The R7 manual is still on Harman's site, here is the link.
I found it under products, Accentra, brochure.

(broken link removed to http://www.harmanstoves.com/doc/Accentra) Manual_R7.pdf

You have to copy the above line and paste in the browser, the space between Accentra and Manual is preventing the whole link to be highlighted.
I purchased my Accentra this year, but it is a 2006 model.
Works great and I am very happy with it.

say, that is interesting. I have a copy of the r4 manual on my desk...just looked at the R7, and saw the differences. no chain! I think mine has a chain...now I have to look.
I do know that it was made in 06. so its almost surely a chain-drive model.

don't know what version the printed manual that came w/ the stove is...I think its newer than the R4, though, as it mentions the direct vent passthrough thimble thingy...and the R4 doesn't. This new R7 also shows that there is a leg kit available. didn't know that. wonder how much??
also, it says the stove is 400lbs. R4 says 350. that must be one heavy auger motor!

I also noticed that the gasket for the hopper is on the glass not the cast iron.
They also have a low draft sensor in the hopper now.
