Installing a stove in place of a prefab Marco fireplace and I want to avoid replacing a 20' run of lightly-used 8DM double wall chimney pipe, with associated fittings, etc.

Stove is 6", and in case you are unfamiliar, 8DM is air-gap, 8" inner SS, 12 3/8" galvanized outer, with wire supports to maintain that air gap.

A. Is this a good idea
B. Who makes adapters to do this?

TIA and really appreciate all the good info here.

No. IIRC this is an air-cooled pipe and not rated for wood stove use. Its maximum operating temp is 1700º. Wood stoves require a higher rated class A chimney pipe rated at 2100º.
