Could have something to do with the milder temp last night (25 vs 8 Tuesday night), but I was much happier with the Stove Temp mode on my XXV last night. The house was 69 when I woke up this morning, using far less pellets than Room Temp mode. I think for me the thing that is difficult is interpreting the temp dial when in Stove mode. With Room mode you just turn the dial to the temp you want. With Stove mode, there are nothing but numbers (not degrees) so you have to find the range on the dial that works for you.
