Quadra Fire Mount Vernon AE and Okangan

Does anyone have this combination? I would like to know what you have found to be the ideal settings to burn this pellet.

Seems like my stove is ripping through these pellets during this cold stretch and I am not getting the heat output I thought I would.

I have them but am saving for January and February and using cheaper Stove Chow for now which I'm using a bag a day. The only change I will make is setting on softwood. Other than that, I assume you would be changing the setting to another fuel type other than softwood or the altitude. Are you using more than a bag a day?

I am currently configured for the following:

Heat Output 2
Hold at 75
Diff 1.5
Manual
Fuel Type Sunflower
Flame -5
Elevation High ( i am in southern nh)
Blower normal

With these settings I am blowing through a bag every 8 hours. I am trying to heat 3000 square.

The room the stove in gets to 75, the next room 72 and the heat does not move to far after that room. I have door fans and cealing fans running....My upstairs stays 62-64 and no hotter unless I put this stove on a drop rate of 5.

You do not need to use the high altitude setting the highest point in Hudson NH is 515 feet.

You should be using the setting for the pellets which isn't sunflower.

sunflower setting is a ton of feed rate and a ton of air.

try softwood and normal elevation also try auto instead of manual

Thanks guys...I thought the heat type only regulated the AE feature and how long the pellet would run before self cleaning....

Let me try these settings and hope to get better results...r

FWIW i tried Auto leaving Stat 2 degrees higher. it works ok. But what im trying to accomplish using the current settings is a blast of heat when the stat calls for it on manual to help push it upstairs. Sounds like your having the same issue seems like we are expecting alot out of the stove heating 3000 to 3500 sqftIf i wasnt having an issue with the upstairs bedroom Auto would be awesome Keep in mind when your reading someones post you dont know what their conditions are ie house layout sqft insulation drafts etc

If a poster wants a really good answer they need to provide all of the information about their setup and settings and that actual issue they have.

Which may or may not have any bearing upon the unstated real situation in this case the OP wanted the settings to burn a softwood pellet.

Usually when we start a long list of probe questions silence ensues or the poster feels somewhat picked upon.
