Freeze Protection, what a pain in my a$$.
Is there a 7 day (or more) programmable thermostat that will allow me to have no call for heat during certain periods?
I have an Enviro EF5 Evolution at my cottage, I believed, naevly, that I could use any compatible 7 day programmable thermostat. I am using a Honeywell 8000 (I believe), and it will not allow me to go below 4.5 degree Celcius or 41Degree Farheinheit.
I need to be able to leave the cottage for 5 days without the stove coming on. The temperature in our area gets very cold (-22F/-30C) at times and there is no way to provision enough pellets to hold the temperature as high as 42F/4.5C
There is no phone service to the cottage, and internet service is also not an option. If I could find a thermostat that hooked up to GSM (wireless cell phone network) that would work, but an expensive option.
Any ideas? I cannot possibly be the first to want this?
