Just lost a big old pine tree with the high winds. Would it be a "BAD" idea to cut up and use in a wood stove next winter ¿

Just worried about creosote ?

Thanks

Pine creating creosote is a misconception.
As long as it is dry there are no issues with burning it. You are in more danger of creating creosote with Oak than you are with Pine. Pine is ready to burn in about 6 months if stacked and has good sun/wind exposure, oak takes a year or more under the same conditions. Pine is great for the early and late burning season. It takes the chill out of the house as opposed to loading up with oak and the next thing you know its 85 in the house. Pine is also great to have in amongst the rest of the wood too. Its always nice to have a split or two to get the coals rolling in the AM

Thanks for the education.
