STOP!

Had a fella with a 4000 sqft home come into the store today with a $900 gas bill for last month.

It was cold so you got off lucky.

I also used about a full ton in January, but this was a month were it never got over 32 degrees until the 31st, with most night well below zero. Water lines and septics that have been safe for years are starting to freeze up.

I am in LOVE with only have spent $200 to heat the house to around 63-70 degrees where last year on LP we kept the place at 62 daytime and 55 degree at night.

LONG LIVE THE BIG E!!!

I also burned a ton in Jan. For $250 I won't complain.

As did i, and i love the heat compared to my oil burner.

January 5th picked up my fourth ton> used up January 26th and into my 5th ton of the season....21 days = 1 ton but it still beats propane

In my neck of the woods:

Data reported today, January 2009 the 8th coldest in history (avg 18.2)
9th snowiest in history, 49.8".

If it is cold outside, you need more fuel to heat the inside. Plain and simple.

When I said some thing gotta give , I ment the weather lol . Mother nature is kicking my ass

with all this snow I have had to push around this month .

With phil predicting 6 more weeks of this, Doesn't look good for a little bit yet.

I have to get another ton just in case. I've used 42 bags in Jan. Plus a little wood on the real cold nights

jay

approx. 1 ton here for january and the house was never below 70, furnace never came on but for weekly cleaning.

January is gone now. I look forward to more sunny days this month than last. Surely some cold spells and probably a bit more snow this month but with more days of melting temperatures too. We are beginning to go the other way now.
Keep your chin up!

into my fifth ton now, but burning 24/7 on med. high heating a 2000 sq.' home with no other heat being used.

Well I have only burnt 10 bags since Jan. 13th. I still have not burnt while sleeping or away at work. Still nervous....oh well. Still have 2 1/2 tons of penns. My oil burner runs very little (upstairs) because of the programmable thermo. The finished basement runs more ( on another programmable) but thats ok>>>it heats up the tile floor! I guess I might have pellets left over for next year. The heat is great!! When I get home the house is 62 and takes no time to get it to 70-72. Maybe Im beating up the stove alittle by making it work so hard for a short time but who knows? How and where should I store left over pellets? Do they attrack bugs/mice? Oh ya...the oil cost me a fortune because they didnt know when my stove would be in....pre bought 250 gals in august at 4.39 gal----ouch---maybe I should be holding onto the black gold
