We are soon going to be replacing our wood stove with a new pellet stove. The stove we're taking out is a Dracon Wood/Coal Stove. The front door opens downward, and the ash pan door opens to the right. Has anyone ever seen one of these? I cannot find any information on it anywhere. We got the stove from someone's basement a couple of years ago. Any info would be greatly appreciated, as we would like to sell it but have no idea if it is even something anyone wants. Can't even find the brand name on the internet...anywhere. I've attached a photo, it's not a very good one, but it gives a general idea...
Thanks!

For some reason the photo didn't come through - you might want to try again, after reading the sticky at the top of every forum area on how to prep pictures for uploading here...

I'm also moving this thread to the "Hearth Room" where you will hopefully get more replies. The "For Sale" area is mostly just for actually selling stuff, if you are more looking for information, the Hearth room, or one of the other areas (depending on what the question is) are generally better places to ask...

On your actual stove - I am not familiar at all with the brand, but it sounds like a pre-EPA smoke dragon. Does it have any kind of label on the back with any sort of testing information, and / or clearance requirements? Do you have any kind of manual or other information on it?

A pre-EPA stove has relatively low value, as they are restricted from being installed in some areas, and even when they aren't, their low efficiency, and tendency to generate creosote and eat a lot of wood makes them not very appealing to the knowledgeable. If it is not labeled with a UL testing label, the value of the stove will be very limited indeed, as an unlabeled / unlisted stove must be installed according to the strictest NFPA clearance requirements if your code inspectors and / or insurance companies will allow it to be installed at all (Many won't!) - this results in a stove that sticks way out into the room, unacceptably so to most people...

The ethics of it can be debated, but it seems like most of these style stoves seem to show up on Craig's List or E-Bay with a "best offer" tag, and people purchase them that don't know any better...
