what is a good price for pacific energy T-6

Hey guy's been calling around and getting prices for the pacific energy T-6 wood stove, and it seems everybody has about the the same price. I have ask the dealers for end of the season specials or clearances and they say they don't have any. I figured with this recession or depression which ever you want to call it, a person could find a good deal. Is $ 2,800 sound about right for a T-6. I've all ready build my hearth for the T-6. and I love the looks of the stove. I'am trying to save as much as i can so i can purchase a ss chimmey system for my stove. where i work at they are talking about cutting our hours back and I 'am just trying make every dollar go as far as i can.

I wasn't too impressed with the apparent misalignment that is built in between the cast iron side panels and top of the alderlea series. The firebox itself is reported to be excellent. Also the EBT baffles me and I would be more inclined to use the T5 if your square footage allows it.

Also consider that if the PE stove qualifies for the federal tax rebate you can get a 30% rebate for the stove. That aint chump change and you really need to consider whether your chosen stove will qualify.

I have consider other stoves, I thought about the blaze king , but not to sure about a cat stove, I love the look of cast iron and what draw me to T-6 was how close it can be installed to the wall, seems like every time I think about another wood stove , the T-6 just stands out to me .I hope it is a good wood stove . It sure has a nice price tag. I got a price from chimmeysweep online ,but with shipping it is the same price, I thought with it being spring A man could find a sale on them locally ,but I have had no luck.

I talked to my stove guy here in Ontario and he told me $ 2800. plus tax for the T6, it's a sweet unit and I love the cook top idea for power outages in the winter when the BBQ is not as appealing.

A couple months ago I saw one for the same price $2800. I doubt many manufactures will drop their prices now that you can get a 30% discount from the feds.

How does the 30% rebate work? what do you have to show them . I have heard about this but am a little confused about the steps you have to take to get the rebate

I don't know about PE stoves, but I just bought a Jotul, and got 18% knocked off the price, plus some free stove pipe to finish my installation. The stove dealers in my area are, in general, running their spring clearance sales.

I wouldn't be so sure. I was in the local stove shop today and they had sale prices of six and seven hundred bucks off stuck on every Harman, Hearthstone and Lopi in the place. The Mansfield I would like to have, if it would only fit, was marked down to $2,600 bucks. Not the floor model, but if you order a matte black trimmed one. I commented to the owner that the prices were fantastic. He replied "Well, it's that time of year.".

PS: An interesting site was their Hearthstone Morgan insert floor model marked down to $995.00.

I haven't noticed any drops in prices around here yet. Maybe it depends on where you're at.

My price sheet has them at $2,800.00. My advice is to check Pacific Energy's web site and call your local dealers. Sometime they have a floor model or "Open House" type sale. Other than that I would say a manufactor suggested price is to be honored by their dealer. They seem to get upset by dealers dipping under that price.

When I was stove shopping, I heard this kind of thing from a few dealers. Especially for Quadrafire, who was having a big rebate at the time. A couple of dealers told me that they were not allowed to take anything off the price because of the rebate. Curios about it, I contacted HHT (Quadrafire parent company) about it, and they told me that their dealers could sell me a stove for whatever price they want, rebate or no rebate.

I'm not a fan of price fixing. I like that quadrafire quote, "their dealers could sell me a stove for whatever price they want, rebate or no rebate" but would like to see added, "to whoever they want". I also dislike this notion that you must buy from a local dealer.

I have a T6 and love it. I bought it last year up here so price will not mean much but i paid $2500 for it. One way to possibly get a deal is buy a package. Sometimes you can get a big discount off extras if you buy enough like the pipe. I got the stainless pipe for 30% off. One thing is I did not buy from a stove specialist. Up here certain Homehardware stores carry PE. If you want a deal check to see if the store selling has other business not just stoves. I think this type store is more eager to move inventory.
