Greetings!
My mother lives on her own and heats primarily with a P2000 insert, stove has been maintained and cleaned regularly, parts changed as needed but is now shutting off randomly. My father consistently asks me to "fix the stove" but I am not a stove repair man by any means, and am not a fan of electrical items. Can anyone recommend an experienced Breckwell repair person in the CT area. Not a guessing parts changer, as we have had that happen.

Thanks for everyone's time! I could probably chat on the phone and read a multimeter and diagnose if folks feel very strongly about fixing it that way as well.

Thanks!

When was the last full cleaning, liner, stove, OAK? What lights are on when it shuts off? What is it set on for normal run, on-off, hi-low, manual? Is thermostat and wires good (battery)?

Manual lacated Here

Cleaned daily, no battery, have a manual but appreciate the link, my mother is 70 something years old so when I ask questions they aren't always answered, but the stove will light and sometimes run all day until its next daily cleaning or will light and stop feeding pellets within 20 minutes. The flue and exhaust fan is clean, wiring looks intact but as stated I am not super comfy with electronics and am more looking for a good repair contact to diag over the phone or come and look at this thing.

Cleaning the firebox area is not all that needs to be cleaned. All venting and motors need to be done at a minimum of once a year. I clean mine every ton. CT is out of my area. Wish you good luck finding a stove tech 👍

A few things when is the last time the hopper was emptied and cleaned out? They will build up with fines and then pellets start feeding randomly as they cannot get past the fines that are plugging the hopper. If it shuts off during the day what heat level is it on if it is on 1 you may have to adjust the trim for the level one feed rate, i have to adjust mine depending on what pellets im using and also the above really effects the feed on low settings. Looks pretty similar to my breckwell internals and daily cleaning is probably a little overkill i do mine once a week, forgot it a few weeks ago and cleaned it after 2 weeks, not sure how it was running burn pot was plugged and it was full of ash but it never missed a beat.

Both motors regularly cleaned along with rest of stove, not the type of thing where neglect on maintenance is an issue, that is one thing I can promise. It is definitely an electrical issue maybe a snap disk. Auger motor has been changed, circuit board, both blower motors, sourced via Breckwell numbers. I appreciate all the responses!

Shutting off randomly does not point to a control board, unless troubleshooting rules out everything else. That is where the questions come from, a need to know.🤪
As far as an “honest Tech” well thats up to you and your choices. Ask them the same question and field their answers to what those here have responded with, if they ask the same things we ask, then maybe they are the one to hire. This forum is generally for ppl that have issues and want DIY help before calling a Tech in to do it. Most here are knowledgable 😎

Controls and items were changed along the way, not current to the problem at hand. The response to clean the fines out of the auger is something I haven't tried.

Sysko, its honestly a matter of time, I have two kids under 8, a repair shop for heavy truck that we own and two separated parents that each demand time, simply can't be everywhere at once unfortunately.

I get it, I really do. But its a futile attempt if you cant find the time to get answers. We cant fix it over the internet without feedback from the stove itself. So this is our conundrum. Using the info you have all ready provided, i suspect there is a blockage in the airflow through the stove to the raincap on the top of the chimney. Or a borderline proof of fire snap disc on its way out.

I mean I did kinda stress in the first post I was looking for service recommendations first and foremost. I had cleaned completely to the chimney cap, no blockages found. Did that Friday night.

Ok Good luck to you 👍

try cleaning the fines out of the hopper and report back.. When i do it i steel one of the bowls out of the kitchen with some wide slots and i shake the pellets im taking out to get all the fines out of them and then when its empty i vacuum it out, sometimes i have to take a screwdriver to loosen up some around the auger base. Or you can save yourself some time and run the unit until its empty and then clean out the hopper. I find i have to clean out the hopper about 2x a year or i run into the same issue

For such a try and find me issue, a look over would be best. I'm leaning towards an iffy proof of fire ceramic disc for that unit. If it runs ok for a while, then obviously its a sporadic failure, meaning if it runs ok for hours all is working normally. And then an issue occurs out of the blue that is the actual problem. Hope you get it fixed.
