These are in development. They require extensive emissions and safety testing and approval of agencies.

Not so when looking at the history.
US made goods will increase in price too, simply because they can given that competition is artificially made more expensive.
Maybe not as much, but certainly they'll go up.

Stoveliker is correct! When steel prices is the US went up, so did stove prices on imports. Why, because the threshold for tolerance was increased. Unfortunate? ABSOLUTELY! Factual? ABSOLUTELY!

Also, we manufacture in both the US and Canada. Availability of labor, material costs and exchange rate all influence the decisions relating to production. We have not decided where new products will be produced and discussions relating to tariffs are premature and hopefully avoidable.

Got it, obviously there’s more to it then what meets the eye.

Nice to see some new Blaze Kings in the works! Prices also went way up the same time as the tax credit came about. Even used stove market is insane. Once I finish my Fireview rebuild and install I’ll probably be able to sell my F45 for what I bought it for four years ago.

Absolutely. The thing is: yes, tariffs on one side do what they are supposed to do: increase the sale of US goods on the local market and thus create jobs.
But the downside is: the reason why we are importing stuff in the first place is either a) foreign goods are cheaper or b) production capacity in the US is not high enough. Either way, prices go up, in case a) because now foreign good become more expensive and more expensive US goods get "a chance", or in case b) because now you have a shortage of goods, which also drives prices up.

Aluminum, while rather unimportant for our stoves, is a good example for case b), production capacity in the US is nowhere large enough to meet demand. For steel the situation is not as dire, but here, too, local production can't meet demand.

At the end of the day, it's the US consumer that pays most of the tariffs.

Nice to see a thread about some new Blaze King products turn into a leftie political thread, and the mods do nothing about it.

I wouldn’t consider it a political thread yet, IMHO it more of a commerce thread. It will be interesting to see if BK and other manufacturers move all their production to the US. Bottom line, it’s going to cost consumers on both sides.

How does talking about tariffs make this a leftie political thread? Why can't we talk about tariffs?

Back to the title of the thread. (I rather wish to learn more about that than have this shut down...)

Anything @BKVP can say in public about the smaller stove?
Styling akin to which model?
Firebox volume?
BTU output?
Cat the same as which current model?

I did not like the framing "now also a room heater, as BK mostly sells whole home heaters" in the referenced news article.
A point source of heat is almost never a proper whole home heater imo - at least without additional (design) measures regarding air flow.

I was wondering if the F31 firebox is an adaptation of the Sirocco/Boxer 25 or Sirocco 30?

I wish they made a fully radiant stove. Too many shielded convective stoves out there.

Lower clearances helps sell stoves. They can be removed if one doesn't mind a naked steel box, but then there are no clearance guidelines, effectively making it an unlisted stove needing 36" clearances all around.

I also think that a cat stove running low works better in providing comfort with convective heat shedding than with radiation levels that are lower (and so less noticeable)

Woodstock has some great, though unique looking, small cat stoves that still have long burn times and low emissions. One of their problems has been huge clearance requirements and hearth requirements. Maybe these baby BKs are to compete with them?

Of course radiant stoves will have a greater clearance requirement but I’d rather have that in an open floor plan high ceiling home and there aren’t many options anymore in steel stoves beside a couple of Drolets.

BeGreen. No adaptation here. A factory built fireplace, our first, which embodies our proven technology. There are no specifics yet. In development last 2 years.

More later, post testing.

The Englander 32 is just a radiant heater now since they got rid of the convection deck and blower from the 30. Obviously not the prettiest stove.

The market for tax credit eligible zero clearance units does not have much competition. That one is good idea. Room heater is interesting. New firebox??? Something small?? N/S?? Compete with 602 or 2b or Aspen?

Two+ year development cycle for a new product. That’s demonstrating some commitment to a quality. I wonder what is typical for other manufacturers?
