first and foremost, im disgusted that this got through tech, i actually printed his pic s off and took them with me to show to the guys on the tech side. now before you guys think im throwing them under the bus, i'd like to take a minute to "get their back" i have a huge amount of confidence in the abilities of our crew not only on the welding line where this happened, but also in out tech crew (who apparently missed this, human error, not going to beat on good workers for a mistake, it happens when it does its my job to make it right) its a teaching moment, lesson administered, im still supremely confident in my tech team's ability to head off this kind of issue. nuff said.

that said, our OP has decided he wants to see if he can fix the issue, his choice, i have no problem with that , but i offered to replace this stove and i told him personally this will not affect his warranty, furthermore if he gets into this and finds its not performing as it should I WILL STILL REPLACE THIS UNIT. it left my factory wrong and i will stand behind it. i made the offer, and it will stand regardless even if he works on the stove and is unable to make the repair. thats how we roll down here.

to our OP
let me know if i can be of assistance from here, relax about the potential for this to not work out for you , if you cant make it work i got your back, my offer will still stand

And this is why, even though we own a Lopi, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an Englander stove. (well, that and the reviews I see on the forums here)

Happily . . . this is the type of customer service from Englander that is not uncommon . . . they really do value their customers. I know personally of a happy Englander pellet stove owner who had a missing part mailed to him via Next Day Mail after he made a phone call. As was stated . . . mistakes happen . . . it's how a company deals with the mistakes and treats folks that says volumes about a company and the way they do business.

I have never bought any product in my life that the manufacturer stood by their product like ESW, I had electrical issues with my stove right out of the box, after many attempts with tech to fix it I got a call directly from Mike he walked me through some trouble shooting and stood by his product 100% no excuses and he took care of it. I would recommend England stove works to everybody.

I made the repair and installed the stove in time for Thanksgiving. Sorry for taking so long to post these pictures. Thanks to all who commented and to Mike for the personal assistance. Here's how it went...

I first measured the height of the hole on the left side.

Then drilled a few holes on the right side.

Pulled out the chunk of steel with vice grips.

Then ground the hole smooth and fit the tubes. Both had to be raised to get them perfect.

Made a new 1/8" thick steel cover plate and painted with high-temp ceramic paint.

In the end they are both perfectly level!

Nice work. Enjoy that kit stove. ;lol

nicely done! now for the important part, how's she burning? when you have a sec and she's up and running shoot me some shots of the burn especially the secondary's, I'll see if I can pick up on anything from the shots.

I'm still not going to be satisfied until I know you are.
