well i went and bought that darn englander 13nc tonight . with the small ranch home i have i think this outta due. the other small junk stove i had did keep us warm so i think the quad 3100 or the englander 30nc would have been a little overkill. we'll see. i can always keep a look out for another stove if this one does'nt pan out. but i had the money and they only had the model and 1 left on the crate.
it does'nt look to be that bad of a stove. thanks all for the great info in my other post. now that i found this site your gonna have to put up with me for awhile . im sure ill have a few questions when i get'er out of the box. oh ya, i paid $479 for it.

Ya ain't gonna be disappointed. The head of development for England Stove Works heats his house with a 13-NC. He installed a 30 but it was running them out of the house.

Our 30 makes a tad of sweat around here on occasion but I just have a thing for big ass wood stoves.

I was burning one of those this weekend up at a cabin in New Hampshire. It hit 0 degrees the first night and we were glad we had it, it was the only heat in the old cabin

That's me! I love that little 13NC, can't say a bad thing about it. Could say some bad things about my wood supplier, but that's irrelevant.

When I unloaded my 13 I just removed all of the brick and removed the door as per the manual. I used 2 4x4 posts spaced about 12" apart and held together with two short 2x4s screwed to the 4bys. One at one end and one at the other, both under the posts. Then I cut the pallet straps and walked it off the truck. I was careful to use short steps and it was fine. I was working off the back of a Dodge Ram 1/2 ton, those things sit pretty high. Really, when you remove the brick and door, you can almost lift the stove by yourself. I wouldn't try it but it does remove a bunch of weight and is much more manageable.

As far as burning, I love my 13! It is my primary heat now. My boiler hasn't run since my install just after Christmas '07. It's the best purchase I have made for my house.

If you have access to an appliance dolley (the type they move refrigerators with) and a couple of nylon tie down straps, you can move it by yourself easily. Getting it out of the Van, I agree with taking all the "stuff" off and then sliding out or having two guys help you.

heck, we moved the 30 ncp with a appliance carrier dolly right off the back of a chevy s 10 pick up & then wheeled the stove right into my basement with the appliance carrier. Took me & stanley all of 15 minutes & 5 of that was for a coffee break.

Oh BTW, we forgot to take the door off & left the bricks all inside the stove. That 30 ncp is
lighter than my pellet stove. easiest stove I ever moved. A 13 should be like nothing.

actually ,we moved a summersheat 50-snc30lc, same as the englander 30ncp except 4 the color of the trim. I paid $476.oo for it out the door lowe's end of season clearance blow out.

I'm waiting for the price of wood to go up so i have some kind of reason to install it.
My 12 cubic foot 1/4 in plate steel smoking dragon got modified into a kick ass secondary burn stove that puts out more heat than ever before on half the wood & less smoke, so unelse wood gets scarce or expensive, my summersheat will just sit on its pallet unelse I decide to install it on the second floor.
